“Welcome to my house” June 18, 2022

Well. Here it is. My first ever blog.

Well, that’s a half-lie. I used to be on Tumblr, but we’re not going to talk about that.

Anyway, my name is Kris, and I am a writer of fiction, news, reviews, and blog posts. Though I’m studying psychology and statistics, reading, writing, and research are my true passions. I’ve been writing fiction since I started high school, dabbling heavily in fanfiction and the occasional original work. However, my passion for non-fiction writing, especially technical and journalistic writing, has been a more recent development.

When I started university in the fall of 2019, I joined my university’s newspaper, TechNews, on a whim as a layout editor and I fell in love with the medium. The Editor-in-Chief at the time was very kind and encouraged me to also branch out into writing. Now, I’ve written quite a few issues for TechNews and have been featured on the front page many times.

I have grown genuinely proud of my writing, bolstered by a handful of 100% essays and peer-acclaimed articles. As my confidence has grown, so has my desire to share my writing with a wider audience. Hence, this blog.

What’s this blog about?

Nothing specific, just whatever strikes my fancy. I have a broad range of interests and any of the following could wind up as the topic of a blog post:

What are the immediate plans for this blog?

In all honesty, WordPress has a learning curve, and these first posts will likely be rather lackluster as I learn how to use the service. Eventually, the website will look different and more polished and I’ll probably change the domain to one my family already owns.

I do not plan to monetize this blog unless I garner a large enough audience. This is mainly for fun, but I wouldn’t mind making some money on the side. We’ll see. I much prefer democratized and free content.
